Camp Hope Expansion: A Legacy of Impact

In 2015, we set out to break the cycle of poverty in Baja California by creating a permanent space where youth could be challenged, inspired, and transformed.

Karl Hus, our first Baja director, and Jeff Devoll, as former youth workers, knew the power of camp — a place where students connect deeply, have fun, and open their hearts to growth.

After searching over 100 properties, we found the land that became Camp Hope and the Hope Center. Despite losing Karl to COVID in 2020, the vision lived on. In 2022, we launched our first camp. By 2023, we partnered with Reflect, a local organization, and have since impacted thousands of students through camps.

What a week at Camp Hope looks like

Phase One Complete!

The Hope Center now features an event space for 300 people and housing for over 100 volunteers. Camp Hope is also taking shape with a 1,000-seat amphitheater, 10 cabins, 8 bathrooms, and exciting recreational areas including sports fields and zip lines. This marks a major milestone in creating a vibrant, impactful space for youth and community outreach.

Now, We Must Grow

To meet the demand and expand year-round outreach, we need to acquire 5 additional acres directly north of Camp Hope.

This land will allow for:

  • More open space and activity zones
  • A buffer from future neighbors
  • New features like additional zip lines, paintball, miniature golf, and obstacle courses

The Urgency:

The current owner is offering the land at approximately half the market value — but we must act quickly.
